About
Amy Song is a ceramic artist working out of Plano, IL. She holds a BA in studio art and ceramics from Hope College. She fell in love with wood firing at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, IL.
Established in 2018, River Song Pottery is the current home of a sizable train kiln and barn and making studio. Fired by a team of 8 artists over 48 hours, the kiln is an asset to the greater Chicago area ceramics community.
Having recently built a house next to the kiln, we should be able to get back to workshops sooner than later! I am also in the early stages of planning a fall kiln opening celebration.
Amy is a cofounder and lead organizer of the Northern IL Pottery Tour. In 2021, the pottery tour did a soft launch online. 2022 brought the show to life, with 20 artists participating in 4 locations. As the lead organizer, Amy is excited to see the show grow to become an annual event that the community anticipates and celebrates.
